Hunter Herald

September 2007

-NEIL & MIKE- School started on a pretty scary note for some at our house. Tom's now in Junior High and that's stressful but he's also changed the school he would have gone to with his old friends. I'm hoping that's a good thing! Rachel also changed schools even though she's in 8th grade. Tena started high school and seminary. Brandie's excited not to be the only one up at 5:30am. Mom's excited about driving them at 6:15 am...NOT. Neil is really excited because he no longer has to leave the couch either morning or afternoon as they can ride the bus now! Okay, okay, just a joke, he does leave the couch quite frequently.... get a drink, answer the phone, get the mail. But that will soon be over. It's been 5 weeks since his surgery and so I'm thinking he's got another 3 and then... well let's just say the "honey do list" is...growing! September has not only brought school but soccer. Between Trevor’s Nick, Kalli's Cypress, and our Tom we’re pretty much at the soccer field from the time it starts until it's finished. It looks like we've arrived with our 72-hour kit because you all know how many snacks and drinks it takes to get 16 people to sit through 3 games that are never at the same time. It's a real hoot to watch and we love it! Neil and I did manage a 5 day get-away to Mississippi to see how southern fried chicken tastes. It was Paij's birthday, it was Labor Day weekend, and we had a babysitter!!!! Kalli and Terry really know how to keep 4 teen-agers in line not to mention a 92-year-old paralyzed grandma, and we are mighty grateful. It doesn't get much better then that. Paij treated me to the musical "the Lion King" and Brent treated Neil to a baseball game. Besides having finger-lickin’ good barbecue, Sam's finest chicken, cruising along the mighty Mississippi, and going to a Rodeo, Paij and I re-decorated and the boys did some plumbing. It may be awhile before they invite us back since we spent all their money and slept in their bed. Jar's out to sea again. He's supposed to come home the end of October and then leave for the Gulf Nov. 4th.

Thank you all for contributing to the newsletter.... those of you who aren't... and you know who you are!!!!! We REALLY want to hear about your family too! Love Aunt Mike

-Trevor & Charmayne-

-Haylee & Ryan-

-Kalli & Terry- We are going to a bike trade show in Las Vegas this week and staying with Melissa and Ty, we're really excited! The kids are excited too because they get to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. Cypress is playing soccer and they lost the first game then tied and then finally won this week. She also had her birthday and is now 6! Tayla is having lots of fun playing with the neighbors and doing TaVaci with mom. Tyden is talking more and more and growing taller daily it seems. We are really appreciating the cool weather and rain! Hope all are well!!
Love, Terry and Kalli

LV-1046 Riga

Latvia

Hi family. Here in Riga, Latvia the weather is very nice, just starting to get colder. No snow yet, but the leaves are starting to change in the parks. That extra blanket on our bed feels good instead of being a nuisance.

Our family nights are going good, the Elders and Sister are bringing investigators into our home so they can hear the lesson and be with some of the youth who have already made the choice to be members. Our biggest decision about family night is what kind of refreshments to serve. The youth here are very health minded and don't like it if it's "not health". There goes all the stuff we like.

We took the Mission President and his wife to the National Ballet of Latvia the other night and saw Cinderella. We spent $40 on a ticket but forgot that maybe Cinderella's Stepmother may be a Madam of a Brothel with scantily clad stepdaughters instead of the mother of two uglies. We listened to the fantastic orchestra warm up and looked around at the gold overlay on the walls of the opera house, watched the people come in ready for a great show. The curtain opened and Cinderella came out for her opening introductory scene, which was very nice. As the next scene opened, we stood up and walked out. We had no idea that Cinderella wouldn't be the traditional, well, Cinderella.

On the street where we live as we look out our 4th story window, we can see the Albert hotel. It is right across the street and is used by some of the teams that come to Latvia to play. Aunt Evy stuck her head out the window this morning after seeing a basketball team clad in Blue, and yelled, "Hey, who do you play for"? One of the players yelled back up,"Poland". On the other side of the street is live music that plays most evenings until later into the night. Kind of a Soul Music that you would hear in the states, so most nights we spend with our windows open to catch the vibes while we swing across the kitchen floor then back again dancing cheek to cheek.

We have been very busy assigning 11 new seminary teachers and institute teachers and getting them trained.

We talked two weeks in a row in sacrament meetings. Most of our time is in the preparation. The doing isn't usually a big deal. We love ya all. Missions are the greatest. As Feris Buhler said," If you have the means, I highly suggest picking one up".

-LAYNE & FRANKIE-We are still alive. Life is great. The Church is true.

-Rachel & Rob-The year is flying by. Cody is doing great in Junior
High this year. He enjoys his wood shop class. He is a first class
in scouts and working diligently towards getting star. I am so
thankful for good scout leaders. Alex is getting his bear at the next
pack meeting. He is adjusting to 5th grade. He is not sure he likes
the added responsibility. Boyd is in second grade and doing great.
He loves school and loves reading. Dale started kindergarten and
is really doing great. I was worried but he is having no problems.
Elizabeth is growing like a weed. She laughs and babbles.
Everyone stops what they are doing just to watch her. The boys
always want me to get out the camcorder or camera. We are
enjoying Seth and Rayanna living in Bakersfield. We get to see
them much more often. Well that's it for the Fransens.

-Seth and Rayanna-

-Brandon & Laura-

-Rebekah and Seth-

Hello everybody! I turn 32 this Month (September)! But my
husband turns 30, somehow 32 is not so bad when a person
can "welcome" their spouse to 30. Is that evil?

So school is underway and I am still recruiting for people to
live in Bakersfield. The truth is that I am planning on running
for mayor and I figure I need to get the entire family here in
order to have a shot, I figure family bribes have got to be
cheaper that random voters. Not really.

Nothing too exciting is happening here, though Seth &
Rayanna got to talk on Sunday. It is really odd to have
family members talk about your family at church. It is strange
to say oh yea I remember that or to have your children ask if
that really happened and was that at Grandpa's house? I
would think that most of you have already experienced that
sort of thing but it was new to me.

If any body has Beau's address my son Peyton would really
like to write and say Hello. He still remembers Beau singing
and playing the guitar at reunion a few years back.

As always if you get bored of where you are living Bakerfield
has lots of houses and jobs. If you drive the southern route
stop by on your way through Bakersfield.

-Caleb & Ashley-Hello Everyone,

It looks like my wife is expecting our fourth child in May.
We are excited. I will be done with my MBA program by
then and will hopefully get to help out more. I am currently
taking 13.5 credits at night while working my normal
Engineering job. This means that I don't get to see my
family often enough. Elijah is going to preschool three
times a week. Hyrum is now potty trained, and Madison is
trying to walk now. It is all fun at our house. The door is
always open to anyone who wants to visit the Tooele, Utah
area and see where the Hunter's originally settled before
moving on to Idaho. We love you all.

Love,
Caleb, Ashley, Elijah, Hyrum, Madison

-Kara & Michael-I like the changing seasons. The leaves are changing colors and my kids keep asking when it is going to snow. I think they have forgotten how cold the snow is and that it is no fun shoveling the driveway. We are planning a trip to California in late October. We want to get a few days of warmth before winter sets in. There really isn't much new. Just school and I have started sewing again. I made a few fleece jackets for McKayla, Karalynn and Adam. McKayla and Karalynn are great encouragement they tell me it "looks beautiful" and they smile when it is done. It doesn't matter what it really looks like to them at least for now it is beautiful.

Take care

Kara Mike and family

-Jeremy & Leslie-
-Benjamin & Megan- This month we have been trying to
adjust to life with 2 kids. I don't know how all of you do it!
It is definitely the hardest and most rewarding job in the
world! Little Ben is starting to get used to his new brother.
Yesterday he tried to help me change Ethan's diaper. So
he's not the best baby bum wiper but it was still cute!
This morning Ethan started to cry and Little Ben went over
and gave him a kiss and started to rub his belly. It was the
sweetest thing I had ever seen! Little Ben is also finally
learning to communicate. In the last week and a half he
has learned to shakes his head "no," signs "all done" and
"more." It makes life much easier when I know what he
wants so I hope it continues. Ethan is growing and becoming
more alert. Benjamin is teaching at Independence High
School. He says it is difficult but he enjoys it.

-Cayle- Hey everyone! By the time you read this I will be officially old. I turn 30 on the 27th and I'm celebrating by playing a rock show with my favorite band of ALL time. They are called Helmet, and I'm sure none of you have ever heard of them, but when I was 16 they got me in to music so DROP IT! ha. There will be a lot of family and friends there, which is all I want, so it should be a birthday to remember. Other than that I'm the most boring man on earth. LOVE YOU ALL!

p.s. send all of you generous cash presents and iphones to Cayle Hunter 935 56th st. #7 Sacramento CA 95819 okthanksbye.

-Natalie & Jared-

-SHEILA & LYLE- Hi family,
We hope all is well with you. Can you believe we have snow on the tops of the mountains in Utah? We're not sure we're ready for winter. We are in the process of fixing up the back yard and stuccoing the house, so we're in quite a mess.
We have been having family home evening as a family on Mondays, with the married kids and their families. Shanille gave the best lesson on repentance last week, and this week it's Adam and Moana's turn. We're looking forward to hearing their lesson as well.
Since Bryce's mission, we have had a few wonderful families come and visit us from England. One guy came with his two seventeen year old grandchildren. He was a smoker, drinker etc. We had a wonderful time while they were here. We played hard on the boat. lazer tagging and hikes. We snuck a few things in about the Word of Wisdom as opportunity allowed. Anyway, long story short, he called Saturday night and said he was getting baptized at the end of the month. He said he knew he wanted to, it was just a matter of when. We were so happy for him. The gospel is wonderful, and we are thankful for it.
We love all you guys. LaMont and Evy, if you get this, we love and miss you and hope you are having a wonderful mission. Tanner, Elder Mortimer, We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work. Lyle and I are so thankful for our family and new grandchildren this year. Wendi is due any day now, Jenna's will be blessed on the 30th of this month.
We love and miss you all. Come see us once in awhile.
love,
The Lyle Mortimers

-Jenna & Kevin- Hello Family! It has been a little crazy since Chloe was born! I went to the ER a couple times with kidney stones. They finally went in and lazered them and we found out there were at least 9! 2 of which were huge! Needless to say I am feeling MUCH better! In the middle of my hospital trips, Kaden broke his arm riding home from school! Kevin says that he is feeling pretty comfortable in the emergency room lately! J Everyone is happy and healthy now!!! Chloe is so much fun! She is already smiling a ton! Bows and bracelets are coming out of our ears!!! Like my mom said, we are blessing her this weekend. Kevin’s mom crocheted the most beautiful blessing dress! I hope to have beautiful pictures to put in the next newsletter!

Love you all! Jenna and Fam.

-Spencer & Shanille-Hello Everyone,

Well it has been a busy month. Quenton is playing
soccer and he is getting really good at it. He has scored
a few points, but most of all he is a great goalie. He got
100% on his very first spelling test, even the bonus words.
All that studying paid off. He turned 7 on the 21st. We went to boondocks fun center.
It was fun. He is going to be in the school choir, even though he doesn't think he
wants to. He also got the swimming sickness this month Cryptosparidium.
That was gross and he lost 2 pounds that he can't afford to lose. Sage is
going to preschool 4 days a week. She loves it. And I love her there. The
donkey at her animal school is going to have a baby
any day and she
can hardly wait. She also plays soccer
and she rocks at it. She scored 5 points in
one game and got $5 from dad. She was
pretty proud. Emeri is finally getting enough
hair that we can do piggy tails. It’s so cute.
She still is hardly talking but maybe that is
a good thing. Talmage is 6 months old and starting to get up on his
hands and knees and scoot. He can get around. He got blessed on the
2nd. He is getting fat. Spencer and I went to Park City for our 8th
anniversary. It was a good time. We are all happy and healthy.
Love Spencer and Shanille

-Wendi & Aaron-

-Adam & Moana-Aloha, Aloha! Life is great! Fall is here and it's getting colder! We are so excited to dress up the boys for Halloween. What we really want to do is: Adam dress up as "Green Grass" you know spike and spray paint his hair green! Moana dress up as "Little Bo-peep", and the boys as the "Two Lost Sheep!" ha ha ha. Now you all know the most exciting news in our life at the moment! It's crazy how things you thought never could be so exciting are now!!! We can't wait 'til Halloween!

Love you all.........Adam, Moana & Da Boys

Hunter Herald August 2007

Hunter Herald

August 2007

(It’s the 1st anniversary of the Hunter Herald! Thanks so much for sending in news and making this a fun tradition for our family! We have the beginnings of a great family history, too!!!)

-NEIL & MIKE- I haven't even read the July newsletter yet but I'm going to hurry and send my August info while I have 2 sec.

I hate summer..... because it makes me sweat and that is just disgusting but I love summer because there is watermelon, swimming and I don't have to worry about homework, essays, a test in Science this Friday or nasty e-mails from teachers about my darling children!! It does present its own challenge though....weeds, glorious weeds.....where IS that garden and what have you done with my zucchini!!!! After an absolutely fabulous time in Hawaii our excitement has waned, except of course for the Reunion, which if you missed it you really missed out. All these wonderful people showed up and it was memorable. We followed that event with our own reunion, going to the "Jelly Belly" factory on our way to the beach in Pacifica. (just below so. San Francisco) It was the perfect two days in the sand and sea and then we had to say goodbye to Haylee, Ryan and their family and Paij. Uncle Neil is in his glory milking again and I am in my glory again eating homemade butter, whipping cream, homemade ice cream and saving a lot of money on not having to buy milk at the store. However, for uncle Neil this cow-kicking experience will end on August 13th. Yes, folks he had so much fun following his last shoulder surgery that he's decided to allow the other shoulder to have the same rewarding experience. If you're free in or around that date you can find him charming all the nurses at the Shasta Medical center in Redding. Jarom spends a lot of time seeing how the ocean works. They go out to sea for about 10 days. Practice shooting who knows what and then come back to San Diego for a week or so and then plays that game again. We are proud of our Sailor. School starts in less then a month and nobody's counting the days. We hope all of you are NOT sweating and that you are spending lots of precious summertime with your family drinking cold lemonade and wake boarding ... or whatever. Much love Aunt Mike

-Trevor & Charmayne-

-Haylee & Ryan-

-Kalli & Terry- We are opening a store in Gridley called TH Bike and Board in November. We just finished introducing the idea to the community at the county fair and it was a huge success. You'll all have to come visit it when we get it open. Cypress started 1st grade today and she's so excited. She's getting so big, but so are Tayla and Tyden. Tayla just turned 4 and got a new bike and rode it to the post office and back today. Tyden is finally talking more and it's sure fun. He loves showing people his big boy bed too. Summer's been fun but we're looking forward to cooler weather.
We love you all!

Mission Address (needs 85 cent stamp):

Melnsila Iela 3-1

LV-1046 Riga

Latvia

Aug. 25th, 07

Hi all you Hunter Clansmen. We have been in Latvia for about 8 months now serving our mission. We have come to love the people here and enjoy being in Riga. We were in charge of coordinating a couple of conferences, one for the youth and one for the YSA. For the first time in the Baltics, we turned the planning of the YSA Conference over to the youth were we found very capable young people who planned a conference that was the talk of the town. Other than the mouse catching competition in the dormitories, the two young girls who said this is boring and left the conference without telling anyone and went to the beach and then went home, and the four little street urchins that kept stealing things and pelting us with nuts as we walked by, the experiences were great. Both conferences are over now and we are back to trying to get seminary and institute teachers assigned and trained before the school year starts. They have home study seminary and institute here, so they only meet once a week at the church with daily reading and study guide done at home and turned in as homework once a week. We really enjoy the travel and being able to go to all parts of the mission and meet the missionaries, and the people in the branches. All of the branches are small, but all of the people are filled with the spirit of the Lord, and are beginning to know how to sacrifice of themselves to see that the gospel grows. We met one woman who said," I joined the church because I know it is true, I didn't know that that meant I would be putting in time as Young Women's teacher, choir director, visiting teacher, but I love it". They are beginning to get the picture of sacrificing their time. I was in a training meeting the other day where the Branch Presidents were challenged to put in at least 4 hours a week in their calling other than the three-hour block. Most Bishops back home put in closer to 25-30 hours a week. We have a little way to go to get the complete established church going here. We like other areas have a hard time keeping those that are baptized active. The drop out rate is high, but the ones that stay are being blessed and the church is growing. I had all of the YSA that are the only members or first generation members in their families, raise their hand at conference sacrament meeting the other day. Well over 90 percent of them raised their hands. They call themselves the Baltic Pioneers. We call them chosen.

Love to all, we miss all of you and hope to see you soon.

-LAYNE & FRANKIE-Michael Helaman Hunter arrived on 7-27-07 - Seth and Rayanna

Ethan James Hunter arrived only a month early on 8-25-07 - Benjamin and Megan. I guess he didn't want to wait 15 minutes so that he could share a birthday with Rachel and Matthew. Mom and baby are doing fine.

I am teaching the 3-7 year olds in Primary. Some of them are almost as cute as my grandkids.

Layne has started back to school. He is also teaching a night class at Reedley College again this semester. Blueprint reading this time.

-Brandon & Laura-

-Rebekah and Seth-We are back in school and life is getting the
routine back. I really miss summer. Oh well I guess that is why
teachers don't get paid the big bucks. People are jealous of
summers and don't love their children enough to insure that the
teachers make the necessary wages to not go postal.
Elliana is already six, Peyton is healthy as can be, drawing at
every opportunity, and Gregory is deciding which instrument to
learn, seperate from the piano.

-Caleb & Ashley-

-Kara & Michael- Hello family, The summer flew by. My kids
started school this week. McKayla is in kindergarden and
loves every minute. Joseph is in 2nd grade and Daniel is in
3rd. Some of the time the boys are happy to be back in
school. Karalynn will start preschool 2 days a week in about
2 weeks.

Kara played on a slow pitch soft ball team for most of the
summer. It is fun to watch and play. Maybe it will become
a summer tradition. We tried again to have 6 kids but
miscarried again at 14weeks. We think 5 kids may be our
number. Daniel earned his bobcat and was awarded it at
the pack meeting tonight. He really seems to enjoy scouts.

Joseph is learning to play the piano. I am teaching him and
need to set a day for lessons so they don't fall by the way
side. He really seems to enjoy learning. I think that is all for
this month until next time.

Kara, Mike and family

-Benjamin & Megan-Ethan James Hunter, son of Benjamin
and Megan was born August 25th, 2007. He weighed
5 lbs 13 oz. and was 18 inches long. Ethan wasn't due
until September 23rd but he was born strong and healthy.
Priesthood blessings and many prayers helped.

-CALVIN & DONNA- My family has banned me from writing to you for the Newsletter. So I will NOT write and tell you that Sarah has been graduated from BYU business school and is now in Houston, TX looking around in Pawn Shops for all kinds of household goods and furnishings... (Her first words when entering the store while on the phone with me were..."ooh... Golf Clubs!").

We made a mad dash to the graduation ceremony, to the BYU creamery on 9th, and home. Nice long trip. (Emphasize L O N G). However, definitely worth it. Let's see... there were Meredith and her boys in one car... Donna, Me, Al, Hillary and Reese in another. L O N G trip for Reese. Her pensive banging on the window in hour 10, saying "Please, Please"... made me think she was an inmate in the county lock-up begging for a taste of freedom! So, at Sarah's place, she took of her clothes and well... "decorated" the sidewalk. I'll show YOU!

NICE!

NOR will I tell you that Emma is still attending Shasta College and working in the catalog department at JC Pennys...

That SAM is a Sophomore... and ALEXANDRA is a Senior... which simply cannot be true. CANNOT be true!

Apparently, it is. Neil had his other shoulder cut up and replaced with a robotic device so we got to see him for a little while... That was really cool... I think I told you that Layne and Frankie drove up this way by mistake. When they realized they had missed the exit to Idaho, they came on by and spent a few relaxing, and from our perspective, delightful hours. That was several weeks ago. But I cannot write and tell you that.

Donna is the Primary President, I am still Executive Secretary - we're anxiously engaged in the good cause!

Natalie and Jared claim they may be coming up for Labor Day, and Cayle keeps threatening. I'm doing a lot of football play by play right now for the radio. But you didn't hear ANY of this from me.
All is well.

-Hillary & Jason- Happy new school year to one and all! It's been a great month for us. Hunter started kindergarten on the 20th and is really starting to settle in. She's a social butterfly and we're working on that but she is quite at home in her classroom. Ellie is adjusting to being the big kid at home and... let's just say it didn't take too long! Reese is enjoying paling around with her sisters and is saying so many words now it breaks my heart how fast she's growing. I'm obviously pregnant now at only 5 months- oh to be over 5 '2" and have some place for that baby to grow! Oh well! I was able to quit my job at Olive Garden to focus on the home more and boy oh boy does it need it! I also got to take Reese with me on the family journey to watch Sarah graduate from BYU. Awesome experience and we are so proud of her. Jason is on his last year for his BS degree and on a more exciting note the bank where he worked was robbed! Sounds more exciting than it is: a man went up to a teller with a note saying he had a weapon, give him money, she did, he left and THEN the cops came. Jason did say that the cops came in with M-16's to make sure all was well so it wasn't a total loss. That's the news from the Rogerson's in August 2007. Best wishes to all!

-SHEILA & LYLE-

-Jenna & Kevin- Hello Family! Well, we welcomed our 5th little baby into the family ... and ...YES... she is a girl! We are all ga ga over her. She is a doll and I love to dress her up like one! Her name is Chloe Shae, she was born on August 10th, she weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 inches long. She is everything I ever dreamed! Mom and Leisha came down and helped out for a week. It was so nice to have them. They slaved away on finishing Chloe's nursery and it turned out darling! The boys are loving school! They started August 7th. It's been so hot here that they haven't been allowed to go outside for recess! Kaden (10) is going to play the Saxophone in band this year. Hunter (9) is signed up for basketball and Kevin will be his coach. Gavin (7) is waiting for soccer to start up. Kellan (3) is in preschool and is learning another letter sound every day! He is very proud!
We love and miss everyone! Hope all is well! Love, Jenna and family

-Spencer & Shanille-Hello everyone, We haven't written in forever.
I am a crazy lady lately. So any ways, nothing too exciting going on.
Quenton rode a sheep in the Spanish Fork rodeo and took 1st place.
He won a trophy as big as him. He had to talk in front of 4000 people.
He did really good. He was so excited and proud and so are we.
Sage and Quenton also rode in the Springville rodeo. Quenton took
1st and Sage got stomped on by the sheep, but they had a great time.
Emeri is 18 months and learning lots of new words. Talmage is 5
months and cute as a button. Quenton started 1st grade and loves
it and I love him being gone all day. Sage will start preschool on
September 4 she is going to a music preschool and an animal
preschool. She is so excited. We are blessing Talmage on
September 2. Finally. Well that’s all for now.
Love you all Spencer and Shanille

-Wendi & Aaron-

-Adam & Moana-Aloha everyone! We've had a fun hot summer! The boys are 2 months old already. At their 2-month check up they both weighed 9 lbs. 11 ozs., and were 22 1/2 inches long exactly!!...Twins or what?! They are growing happy and healthy. Moana loves staying home with them. They keep her busy! Adam loves his job and is starting to trade stocks and options as his new hobby! Hope all is well for everyone else. We love you!!!

-Bryce & Jessica- I don’t know if there is anything
interesting going on in our lives at the moment. I’m
still building my website, (theldsbookstore.com) and
working on purchasing another. Contract comes in
Tuesday. It’ll be fun to see what happens with that.
Jessica is running in the mornings and trying to get
into shape. Every time she leaves I think I have to
get out and go too. Finally I got up this morning
and worked out. (If you can call it that) Beautiful
weather in the mornings.

That’s about it. Getting ready to complete pilot’s
license this year, get school going, etc.

Hello -Hunters- big and small,

We love you and are glad to hear about all the good news-babies, weddings, receptions, operations gone well, broken bones mending, kids doing great things, missionaries safe, - Sheila, Hope your hip pain has slowed down and that you are doing better-sounds very painful, We're thinking of you!

The mission is great, last night we took a short cruise on the DaugvavaRiver with the other senior missionaries-very peaceful and really lovely. (Old town is along the left Bank and of course the skyline - with all the Church towers- castle, old walls make it unbelievably beautiful.) We have our 4 dayYouth and 4 day YSA conference in a couple of weeks- everything in 5 different languages- LaMont is amazing, we still have a lot of "tweaking" but, with all your help and suggestions- that we keep asking for- I think it will happen and be great!

We think things are good at home- our kids are amazing- we'll have to fight our way back into the family loop - they are doing so well! I know we couldn't be here without the support and help of everyone there. We love you and think of you! The Gospel in the lives of these young people are the hope and future of everything good and happy and true here in the Baltics. How much we love and respect them for their stalwart spirits, and their want to do and be faithful! LaMont would want me to tell you we saw a moose (in the wild) in Lithuania!!! And The BLUE cows- only place in the world- they do have!!! We love you, Sister and Elder Hunter (Evy and La Mont)

-LAYNE & FRANKIE-We have had a fun summer thus far. Layne has enjoyed fishing. We are looking forward to Kaylee's baptism and the arrival of her new brother. We have been praying that Megan won't have her baby soon. She has been on bed rest for weeks. So far, so good.

-Rachel & Rob-The Fransen family is doing great.
As you probably heard. On June 9th we had a daughter.
She was 9lbs 4oz. We named her Elizabeth May. After
her Grandma Fransen and Great Grandma Starkweather.
We love having a girl in the house. I love dressing her
up and having pink things. The boys are so helpful
and love their sister. They even want to change diapers.
She is seven weeks old now and weighs over 14 lbs.
We are all getting stronger arms carrying her around.
We are all enjoying summer break. Cody starts Jr. High
this year. Alex will be in 5th grade and Boyd will be in
2nd. My little boy Dale will start kindergarten. I'm not
really ready for that but I am sure Elizabeth will keep me
busy. Rob is still working in the nursery he likes it. I am
the Young Women Secretary. We are sad about my
parents not being in the ward anymore but at least they
are still near by. We are sorry we missed everyone at
reunion. We plan on being there next year.

-Seth and Rayanna-

-Brandon & Laura-

-Rebekah and Seth-We are having a great summer. We had
a lovely block party for the 4th and traveled around for the
next two weeks. Regrettably, our tri-stake pioneer day has
been cancelled due to city scheduling conflicts, so we will
want to hear all about yours.

Have a great rest of the summer!!!

-Hillary & Jason- Howdy all Hunter families! We're sweating away here in Redding but it hasn't been nearly as bad as other summers. No new news to report other than Hillary is scheduled to get her braces off July 23rd and can't wait! We've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Harry Potter book (we're fanatics) and are really nervous we won't be able to finish it before someone spoils it for us! This will all be old news by the time this is posted but oh well. That's just how exciting our lives are right now! Love to all!!

Hillary

-Cayle-I don't have any news! I'm the most boring person EVER! haha. All I do is play music in my band at night and work at the corporate offices for Safeway during the day. No wife, no kids, no girlfriend, no special events. OH! You can write this in the Herald: Our cousin/nephew Cayle continues to be a totally boring loser that never has any cool news to report to us or anyone else. He now has three YOUNGER sisters that are married and doing well, and he has no prospects to join their ranks any time soon. haha.

Love the newsletter though! It's the best! Love you guys!

-Sarah & Ryan- Ryan and Sarah McMullin: Life in Provo
is getting pretty hectic right about now. Our big move is
in less than 30 days, and we are really starting to realize
that we've got to become Texans. Some of Ryan's cousins
recently moved to Houston as well, so we're glad we will
have some family close by. Law School starts the 20th of
August, so there's no turning back now. (Sorry, Uncle Neil.)
For all Utahns, a big chunk of the family will be coming
out to Provo for BYU graduation August 16th and 17th,
so be sure to keep in contact. (Maybe we should plan
something, Aunt Sheila.) Hope all are enjoying their
summers.

-SHEILA & LYLE- Hello everyone, How are you all? The Mortimers are busy working on LDS Book Sellers Convention, the back yard, and what ever else happens day to day. We're looking forward to seeing Calvin and kids Aug. 1. Jenna is threatening to have Chloe Shae any time soon so Sheila is looking forward to that Arizona sunshine. The twins were blessed last Sunday. Kenneth and Chandler are seven and a half pounds each. Wendi, Aaron and Anthony are in Florida until the middle of September. Her boy is due in October. It was Jessica’s birthday July 24th. Bryce took her to Park City with their new bikes. Spencer and Shanille were fishing the other day and Shanille's mom broke her heel really bad. Tanner is still in Juliaca, Peru. It seems he always has a baptism coming up. Leisha just returned from girls camp and EFY. She’s had a great summer. Come see us once in awhile.

We love you all,

The Mortimers

-Jenna & Kevin- Hi Family! We’re having a great summer! The boys are dying to find out who their new teachers in school will be! I got released from being Primary President and although there were tears, I am so excited to have a little extra time to prepare for baby. Gavin (7) got to spend a week up in Utah with Grandma and Grandpa Mortimer! He was VERY excited to let everyone know that he caught 2 fish and Grandpa didn’t catch any. J He also LOVED playing with his Utah cousins. The rest of us are just going to the movies and swimming a lot! Anything to stay out of the heat! 4th of July was 118 degrees!

-Spencer & Shanille-
-Wendi & Aaron-

-Adam & Moana-

Hello Everyone! We had a great month of July with our family of 4 now! The boys have already gained about 2 pounds. Kenneth has caught up to Chandler and they both weigh the same now! We had their baby blessings on Sunday the 22nd of July. It was wonderful. Adam did a great job...double time! Here's their baby announcement picture. Hope everyone is doing well and happy! Love you all!

Adam, Moana, Kenneth & Chandler

-Bryce & Jessica- It’s Jessica’s birthday this 24th. We’re
going to Park City to go bike riding, and swimming, and
shopping at the outlets. (I’m not excited about that, but I
know Jessica will be.) Keep this on low profile because
Jessica doesn’t know we’re doing this. Also, there’s a
huge zip line we’re going to ride. You can see it here.

Anyway, we’re hanging in there. I’ve made my own online
bookstore. I’ve gotten two orders so far. Not bad considering
I haven’t finished the links and the home page isn’t done.

We love you all!

-Trevor & Charmayne-Well, we survived the family reunion. It was nice to see everyone again. We're stayed pretty busy this month. Trev took the car to 3 shows and got 3 first place awards. We even beat out one of our best customers. Put a little motivation for him to improve, yeah! Schools out and Kinny was bored the day after we got back from the reunion. So Trevor had Kalli give him a Mohawk the day before he went to his grandmother's house for the week. Try explaining that one. Nick is now in the 4th grade and his teacher has moved him up to 5th grade math. We're very proud of all their accomplishments in school. Now if we can only get them to do their chores!!!

Latvia

Hello all of you Hunter Clan!

We are writing from our home in Riga, Latvia. I am sure all of you know that we are on a mission here. We have been out about six months already. Latvia is part of the three Baltic Nations. The other two are Lithuania, which is probably the prettiest, and Estonia, which is by far the most interesting on a political level and a cultural level.

We are working with institute age youth. We have met many of them here in the Baltics. They come from broken homes, homes with alcoholic parents and siblings, and still even with these horrible circumstances, the depth of their testimonies never cease to amaze us. They call themselves the Baltic Pioneers and in a very real sense, they are pioneers. It will probably be their kids that will really make a mark in the Baltics as far as the church is concerned.

We are really sorry we were not able to attend Hunter Family Reunion this year at good ol Rucker Lake. It's always fun to see and talk with everyone. We have heard that everyone is doing good. Three new babies including a set of twins. Pretty cool, or as the Latvians say, (forši) We love them already, sight unseen. Well we must go love to all, see you in a year or so.

With love, LaMont and Evy

-Melisa & Tye-Hi Hunter Clan!! We're still here in Las Vegas Nevada waiting for all of you to come visit us. You know you have free room and board if you ever want to come see the entertainment capitol of the world!! (Who could turn that down??) We heard the reunion was a blast. We were sad we couldn't make it. We'll shoot for next year! Last I heard from my mom and dad, all was well. They are enjoying things so much. My little family is doing good. We are pretty boring. No broken bones, of kids falling out of two story windows or anything. No baby on the way, or move in the future, but we'll keep you posted!! Oh for those of you who haven't heard...Tye passed the Nevada bar!! Hooray!! So...If anyone needs legal help after your stay in Vegas, we’ve got that covered too!! We love you all!!

Tye, Melisa, Allie and Ash

-LAYNE & FRANKIE-We had a great time at family reunion. THANKS Greg and Lisa!

Layne was sustained last Sunday as the President of the Sequoia Branch. We have been in the Selma Ward for 22 years so the call came as quite a surprise. It is about a 45-minute drive from our home up in the foothills towards Kings Canyon National Park.

Rob blessed Elizabeth May Fransen (6-9-07) at the branch because there were several family members visiting. Next week most of us will be in Twin Falls for Daniel Nichols' baptism and then on to Pleasant Grove for Annabell's blessing.

Congratulations to the parents of the newest Mortimers.

-Rachel & Rob-

-Seth and Rayanna-

-Brandon & Laura-

-Rebekah and Seth-Well, summer is finally here and of course it is flying by. We had a great time at Family Reunion. We were sad to miss so many family member were unable to attend. Perhaps next year? We hope so!

As many of you may know Seth & Rayanna are in Bakersfield!!! They are actually living across the street from us for the next 6 months or so. Just till their house is done. Then they will be about 2 miles away. We are so excited!!! So now when you visit or pass through it will be twice the fun!

We will be visiting Utah and Idaho during the month of July and if we don't get to see those of you who live there, we will be thinking of you and wishing we had more time. Till next month!

-Caleb & Ashley-
-Kara & Michael-

-Jeremy & Leslie-Jeremy and Leslie Hunter will be
blessing their baby, Anabel Mryteen Hunter on
July 15 in the pleasant grove 4th ward at 1:00 pm.
All are invited to attend.

-Benjamin & Megan-
-Matthew & Karali-

-CALVIN & DONNA-There is NOTHING to report from the Calvin Hunter household. LaMont saw a blue cow. Natalie got married and Donna HAD a cow. We were thankful to see that Neil and his beautiful family were able to come to Natalie's second reception in the beginning of June. It was a delight. Is Beau having a reception or anything? Anybody?

What else IS there?

Donna is the new Primary President.

Belva Burgess had a big birthday party in Redding a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to go, but was working - American Legion baseball. I remember now.

Emma is still working at JC Penny and going to Shasta College...
Alexandra is ... well... she's a bum. What can I say. It's summer and she and Sam are BUMS! And I love it.
No triple digits in Redding yet- but they say it will be 105 on the 4th of July. WooHoo! Summer's really here!

All is well.

CAL HUNTER

-Meredith & Bill-

-Hillary & Jason-Hunters! We are so sad we missed the
Hunter reunion but heard it was fun. The Rogerson's
have been busy in the month of June but really just from
the same old stuff. Hillary's trying to unpack boxes one
at a time around three little kids and Jason's still working
full-time and doing school full time. He gets a month off
school in July and we are ALL looking forward to it. For
those of you who have not heard we are expecting a fourth
little Rogerson due CHRISTMAS DAY. I know, I know...
we know how crazy we are but we're super excited. The
girls are excited at the possibility of having a... what are
they called again? Oh yeah, a boy, but we won't know
until that baby's here. Love to all!

-Cayle-
-Sarah & Ryan-
-Natalie & Jared-

-SHEILA & LYLE-Dear family, It was so nice to see most of you at the reunion. We were only there for a minute because the twins were born on Thursday night. They are so beautiful. Everything you could want. They are for sure identical, dark straight hair etc. It was nice to know everything was o.k. Thank-you Greg and Lisa for all your work. We love you all, and hope you all have a great summer. The Mortimers

-Jenna & Kevin- Hi Family! We are doing great down here in AZ.
Kaden (10), Hunter (9) and Gavin (6) are enjoying swim team and
swim lessons this summer. They had their first 2 meets, but Kaden
couldn't participate because he got stitches on his leg. (He crashed
trying to jump a bike ramp.) We are on the countdown for baby
number 5. I'm due in 7 weeks...and counting. We are very excited.
Kevin has been laying a wood floor in her room and the walls are
the perfect shade of pink. Gavin will be 7 this Sunday and we are
having fun planning a "pirate" party. Kellan (3) is just excited to be
a big brother. He's been saying the funniest things lately. The
latest one was, "Mom, you're AMAZING! Your body can open
up and the baby can come out. You are TRICKY!" I am always
laughing with him around. Well, Love you all!!! Have a wonderful
4th! Love, Jenna and Fam.

-Spencer & Shanille-
-Wendi & Aaron-

-Adam & Moana-

This was the best month ever for us!!! The Twins... Kenneth & Chandler arrived on June 14th, 2007! It was an awesome pregnancy, everything went well and the babies are healthy as can be! We couldn't be any happier. Adam got a Father's Day present just in time! Life is perfect! We love you all, have a great reunion!... Love, Adam & Moana & The Boys

-Bryce & Jessica-Jessica and I are doing fantastic.
We’re teaching Voice Lessons. Well, Jessica is
and I’m the designated piano player. It’s been a
lot of fun. I’m riding on a little scooter to and from
work. Believe it or not, it saves about $200 of gas a
month. Jessica’s van is a gas hog, and she drives
just as much as I do going to and from work. So, I
ride a scooter (70 MPG) and she takes the car. We’re
both working getting ready for school. I’ll be
starting at UVSC this fall. Going into Information
Systems. This covers computer programming,
website design, finance, marketing and business
management. Sounds interesting.

Well, I hope you’re doing well have a great July!
